There are messages to us from our higher self at all times. In order to access these messages, we need to open up the channels for communication to the spiritual world.
The spiritual world exists everywhere. When we telepathically communicate with our pets or think about a friend and they call, it is our sixth sense in action. To further develop this sense, start making yourself attuned to the finer details around you. Look for patterns, messages, or a feeling in your body for the gentle signs of the intuitive world.
There is a wealth of knowledge available to us when we “listen” to cues from the universe. Some call it a “gut feeling,” others call it intuition. To consciously access your intuition, practice listening more. Listen to what others say and pay attention to everything going on around you and in your body. In essence, turn off your mind, or pause in order to notice the information being brought to you by your other senses. Is your sight or smell pointing something out to you?
It is especially important to tap into your sixth sense when you are in a situation where you need to make an important decision. Sometimes our minds give us feedback and yet something inside tells you not to move forward on that idea. Wait for the feedback from your sixth sense. If you still aren’t able to pick up on the other messages, spend some time alone, in nature or doing something that relaxes you with minimal talking.
When we ignore these messages, they often come out in psychosomatic ways through illness, body pains, or physical ailments. The energy is absorbed by the body whether or not we choose to acknowledge its presence. The opposite is also true, in times when we listen to our sixth sense, you may feel lighter, younger, and more energetic.
Give space and weight to your sixth sense, the way you do your mind and reason for a fuller and more satisfying life. If you can, spend time every day connecting with your sixth sense by disconnecting from stressors and responsibilities. As you start connecting more, you will be fascinated by what you learn. Journal or draw the messages that come to you or ask your sixth sense, “what are you trying to tell me today?”
